I do believe I am officially back! My laptop has finally returned to me and seems to be running normally. The motherboard had to be replaced so I’ve been slowly reinstalling everything I need and restoring some files. I, of course, forgot to backup about half of my Photoshop brushes and patterns, so I’m rather bummed about that. At least I have all of my files though.
This is a good time to remind you to backup your own files too. I personally have Backblaze to thank for being able to recover over 250gb of data without having to do all of it before shipping out my laptop. It backs up continuously so I never have to think about it. Worth. Every. Penny.
I also just got back from Ontario last week. I brought back a very nasty cold too apparently. I don’t tend to get sick, but this is now day 10 and it’s still here. Like I needed something else to slow me down!
I can honestly say that August was a major struggle for me. So many things went wrong, it was hard to keep going with this business. For one, I couldn’t even do that majority of my work. For another, the motivation was gone. I felt so beaten down, I seriously considered giving up entirely.
But I didn’t. I had to keep reminding myself that I truly love what I do. I think I needed this forced break though. Now that I am through the other side, it’s back to work and time to turn things around.
Just remember: shit happens, wash it off and keep going.
Now, let’s see what’s been going on lately.
Sasha has a new set of 12 Canva templates out. These work great as ready to go printables, or you could easily turn them into fillable PDF which are super popular on Etsy. There are some basic templates, such as a menu planner and grocery list, but there are also some fun ones like a puppy profile.
You can grab them for just $19 until the end of the month when the price goes up.
Jan has a couple of fun things going on this week too. One of those being a $20 gift card to her shop! Just use code LABORDAY22 by tonight to save 20 bucks.
The best part is, she just released a new product. You can get the Unicorn Motivation Journal on sale for $12.95 with code UNICORN. Orrrrrr, you could use that gift card up there to get it for just $7.
Another fun one that just came out are Rayven’s Butterfly Fairies Coloring Page Designs. I see butterfly fairies in so many different styles absolutely everywhere nowadays! You can save 40% with code PIXIEDUST until the 12th.
And that’s it from me today. I’m off to install some more stuff and get going on my next product. Heads up, because I was stuck with just using Procreate, all of the graphics are completely hand drawn for this one! Just gotta get the interior made now 😉
Stay awesome,
Dodge
p.s. Seriously, go backup your data right now! I suggest Backblaze, but even a USB stick will work if that’s all you have.
